ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ Michael Hollimon had a tiebreaking RBI single and Dustin Majewksi added a two-run double in a three-run eighth inning as top-seeded Texas avoided elimination in the Big 12 tournament with an 8-6 victory over Oklahoma State on Thursday.

The Longhorns (44-14) had finished their opening-round 8-4 loss to Texas A&M early Thursday morning, only about 12 hours before their second-round game began.

Josh Fields had a solo homer, his third, for Oklahoma State (37-21) in the seventh that tied the game at 5-5.

Hollimon's single against reliever Daniel Rew scored J.D. Reininger, who led off the eighth with a double off Mike Patitucci (0-2). Tim Moss followed with a single and Omar Quintanilla was intentionally walked before Majewki, who has six hits in two tournament games, hit his two-run double for an 8-5 lead.

Texas freshman Huston Street (3-1) was the winner, despite allowing Jake Bolling's 12th homer in the eighth that narrowed the Texas lead. Street allowed one run on two hits over 2 2-3 innings.

Majewki and Reininger both went 3-for-5.

Reininger had an RBI double in the second to put Texas ahead 1-0. But Oklahoma State scored three times in the third, on a bases-loaded wild pitch by Longhorns starter Brad Halsey and a two-run double by Fields.

The Longhorns' three-run third gave them a 4-3 lead on RBI singles from Matt Rosenberg and Ryan Hueble and Hollimon's sacrifice fly.

Majewski hit a solo homer, his seventh, in the fifth for a 5-3 lead. Jeff Salazar had an RBI groundout in the sixth for Oklahoma State.
