The ocean's endangered coral reef is getting a lift, in Jenks. At the soon-to-be Oklahoma Aquarium, volunteers from Operation Aware will spend the next few days helping build backdrops for the huge coral reef exhibit.
KRMG radio's Rick Couri spearheads the community involvement project every year. He says the aquarium motto; "Conservation through Education" has a deeper meaning that coincides with Operation Aware's purpose. "Teach kids about decision making, how to make the right one and then you don't have to go back and fix the problem later."
The Oklahoma Aquarium should open late this summer.
