Almost everything is on the table for Tulsa city budget cuts next year - but public safety will likely avoid the most severe cuts.

The city council is meeting with each department to determine how cuts will affect them. Most departments have to plan for a 20% cut, but it will likely be less - and much less for the fire and police departments.

City councilor Joe Williams, "We have protected the police and fire because the mayor and council thought that public safety was a critical issue.”

The budget for next year begins July 1st.
