LAWTON, Okla. (AP) _ A fire that broke out Saturday did an estimated $300,000-$400,000 damage to a Lawton lumber yard.

The truss plant at Mid-America Lumber was destroyed in the fire, which was reported about 6:45 p.m. During the next two hours, 11 units and several off-duty firefighters were called to fight the blaze.

No one was injured and the cause of the fire was under investigation.

``We're out of the truss business, at least for the moment,'' co-owner Terry Smith said.

Smith said the portion of the plant where officials believe the fire began was densely packed with wood and wood shavings.

The lumber yard was closed when the fire began, but Smith said workers had previously found signs of people sneaking onto the property after hours.

``We have an eight-foot high fence and four lines of barb-wire on top of that,'' Smith said. ``But people still get in here.''
