One of Tulsa's finest is not patrolling the streets, like he has been for the past five years.

K-9 officer Rex, a German Shepard, died last month from intestinal cancer, he'd made some 50 arrests. Rex and his partner, Tulsa Police officer Jack Pike, searched many buildings together, tracked criminals and arrested everyone from armed robbers to rapists. "This dog had me spoiled. I didn't do the work, he did the work. I just held the leash and away he went, he was a natural."

Rex also became a part of the Pike family and when they found out he was sick, they took him to Woodward Park for some final pictures.

Rex's ashes are now in an urn in the family's home.
