Two people were injured in an early Thursday morning accident on I-44.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 21-year-old Darcie Rexroat of Owasso was driving eastbound when she ran off the road, hitting a guardrail. Crews had to cut Rexroat's passenger, 17-year old Holly Perkins out of the car.

Perkins suffered both broken arms and legs. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The accident forced officials to shutdown I-44 for about a half hour, backing up traffic.
