One week after his killer was sentenced to die, the family of Jerald Thurman is speaking out.

Last week, a Tulsa jury convicted Victor Miller for Thurman's murder in 1999. Thurman's family says they are relieved with the death sentence.

They say Miller's execution will bring an end to what's become a very long ordeal. Jake Thurman, Jerald's son, "If anything, yeah I'd like to see it happen, but if not, I hope Jake does, I hope Jake gets to see it." Sherry Thurman, Jerald's wife, "In my heart and in my mind I still think he's watching over me everyday of the weeks."

Thurman was killed while trying to help a woman who'd been kidnapped from Tulsa. His widow says she will most remember her husband's kind ways. She says that's probably why he risked his life to help a stranger in need.
