Citgo relies heavily on Venezuela oil, so the recent political uprising got their attention.
We spoke to the folks at Citgo Friday afternoon to see how the trouble in Venezuela would affect oil and gas supplies in the US. Jim McBarthy with Citgo in Tulsa says they felt confident we wouldn't feel any effects at all, "Our employees worked very hard, long hours to ensure that all of our refineries were continuously supplied with the crude that they needed so all of our customers were continuously supplied with the gasoline that they needed to get them where they need to be.â€
Venezuela holds the largest oil reserves in the western hemisphere. Citgo believes that because that country depends on the US as its number one client for petroleum exports to support its economy, it's not likely those exports will stop.
