ATLANTA (AP) _ Cable News Network laid off about 20 Internet employees, citing redundancies between television and Web operations.
The company had already dismissed nearly 400 workers in January following the merger of its parent company Time Warner with America Online.
``CNN has been looking at ways to further integrate our television and Web properties,'' CNN spokesman Matthew Furman said Wednesday. ``We found approximately 20 positions in our interactive division that reflected redundancies in areas of responsibility.''
There have been reports that more job cuts may still be coming. Furman said there were no immediate plans for more cuts, but ``CNN will continue to review its operations with an eye toward improving efficiency.''
