(Colorado Springs, Colorado-AP) -- Big 12 basketball coaches are upset with N-C-double-A rules that limit the number of scholarships they can offer.
The conference decided today at its annual spring meeting to try to change those rules.
N-C-A-A Division I rules limit men's basketball programs to offering five scholarships in one year or eight over two years.
Conference officials say the limit hurts teams when players leave school before graduation to play professionally and when players are removed from their teams for disciplinary reasons.
