OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Mike Hubbard hit an RBI-single in the extra inning to lift Oklahoma over Iowa 4-3 on Sunday.
An RBI-single by Harry Berrios moved the RedHawks to within one of the Cubs at 3-2 in the ninth inning. Cliff Brumbaugh's run-scoring single after that tied the game and sent it into extra innings.
Oklahoma shut down Iowa batters in the top half of the 10th and Hubbard's hit wrapped up scoring.
Todd Dunwoody put the Cubs on board first with a home run in the second inning and increased the lead to 2-0 with a run-scoring double by Mike Mahoney.
Carlos Pena hit a home run to lead off the fourth inning for Oklahoma, which would not score again until the ninth inning.
Rick Short added another home run for the Cubs in the seventh inning to bring the score to 3-1.
Phil Norton (0-1) allowed one hit and one run in the inning he pitched for Iowa to take the loss.
Brian Schmack (1-1) won the game for Oklahoma, allowing no hits or runs in 1 2/3 innings.
