(Stillwater-AP) -- Oklahoma State assistant football coaches are among the highest paid assistants in the country. Now the Cowboys hope they will be among the best programs in the country.
This year, O-S-U will pay its nine assistants a combined one (M) million, 78-thousand dollars. That's more than any college football program paid its assistants last season.
Assistant head coach Mike Gundy tops the list, with an annual salary of 250-thousand dollars. Gundy is believed to be one of the highest paid assistants in the country.
Athletic director Terry Don Phillips says O-S-U is committed to being profitable and productive.
Oklahoma's nine assistant coaches will make one (M) million, 164-thousand dollars this season. Texas had the highest payroll last season with one (M) million, 35-thousand dollars.
Florida State's staff is expected to make about 950-thousand dollars, the same amount as last season.
