LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Suzanne Somers says she is being treated for breast cancer and has had liposuction to deal with some of the effects.

The 54-year-old actress, who starred in the late 1970s TV series ``Three's Company,'' spoke about the treatment Wednesday on CNN's ``Larry King Live.''

She said she has been taking a homeopathic treatment, against the will of her doctors.

``I really feel I'm licking this,'' she said.

Somers said she decided to come forward after the National Enquirer reported earlier this month that she had received liposuction at a Southern California clinic.

Somers, who advertises the ``Thighmaster'' and other fitness gear on television, said she had liposuction because she felt ``disfigured'' by the cancer's effects.

``It was just to even some things out,'' she said.

She said she hadn't discussed her condition publicly before because she didn't feel she was ready.

``Each day it is like a stab in my heart,'' she said. ``I just wanted to get far enough away from it.''
