(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The state Senate will take up the volatile right to work issue on March 14th.
Senate President Pro Tempore Stratton Taylor today announced the date of the debate. He says giving the date in advance gives senators and the general public time to adjust their schedules so they can attend.
Senator Dave Herbert of Midwest City is the author of the right to work measure that calls for a statewide referendum on right to work.
Right-to-work laws prohibit collecting dues from workers who decline to join a union in union shops.
If approved by the Legislature and Oklahoma voters, Senate Joint Resolution One would add a right to work provision to the state constitution.
