Former jailer admits to taking drugs to jail

(Jay-AP) -- A former Delaware County jailer admits he carried illegal drugs into the jail and has been given a three-year deferred sentence.

Landry Barnes was living with then-Delaware County Sheriff Jim Earp when Earp arrested him last May. Earp was engaged to Barnes'

mother at the time.

Barnes was arrested after telling Earp and a deputy that he had taken marijuana into the county jail and given it to an inmate.
