(Tulsa-AP) -- The defending national champions and three other bowl teams are included on the University of Tulsa's 2001 football schedule.

The Golden Hurricane open the season at home against Indiana State on August 30th, then travel the next week to Norman to play the defending champion Oklahoma Sooners.

Other bowl teams on the schedule are fellow Western Athletic Conference members Fresno State, Texas-El Paso and Boise State.
