(Tulsa) - A study of how technology is changing America's urban landscape identifies Tulsa as an emerging center for technology.

The study by the Los Angeles-based think tank Milken Institute due out today focuses on ``emerging,'' ``first-tier' and ``comeback'' cities.

Researchers say skilled tech workers are moving to areas they consider more desirable, and that cities like Tulsa are drawing companies away from the costlier East and West Coasts.

The report notes Tulsa's low cost of living, high quality of life and diverse cultural resources as valuable assets.

Researchers say Tulsa likely can't compete with ``first tier' cities like Boston and New York in part because of its modest night life. Other drawbacks mentioned are a lack of a recognized research university and convenient air transportation.
