(Bartlesville-AP) -- A Bartlesville man faces a charge of first degree rape by instrumentation for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old family member in 1997.

Prosecutors say the now 16-year-old girl recently reported the alleged assault by Jim Dale Eastom to a parent. Authorities say the girl became concerned for the well-being of younger female relatives who come into contact with Eastom.

Eastom is being held in the Washington County Jail on a 75-thousand dollar bond.
