NEW YORK (AP) — Maybe he can't put up 25 points a game or make clutch free throws. But Harry Connick Jr. will be one of the big-name stars at this year's NBA All-Star Game.
Connick will perform at halftime and serve as creative director for the game, which takes place Feb. 11 at the MCI Center in Washington. The game will be broadcast live at 6 p.m. EST on NBC.
The singer and pianist wrote an arrangement honoring All-Star MVPs from the past 50 years, which he will perform with his 15-piece big band.
Honorees include Hall of Famers Earvin ``Magic'' Johnson, Julius ``Dr. J'' Erving, Nate ``Tiny'' Archibald, Rick Barry, Elgin Baylor, Dave Bing, Bob Cousy, Walt ``Clyde'' Frazier, George Gervin, Hal Greer, Bob Lanier, Jerry Lucas, Ed Macauley, Bob Pettit, Willis Reed, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell, Bill Sharman and Isiah Thomas.
