(Washington-AP) -- The U-S Supreme court today turned down an appeal by an Oklahoma death-row inmate who was convicted of killing a fellow inmate in the Muskogee jail.

Terrance James was asking that his death sentence be overturned.

James was convicted along with Samuel Van Woudenberg for the 1983 strangulation death of Mark Berry at the jail.

Prosecutors say James believed Berry was a snitch whose information led to the arrest of James and Van Woudenberg on theft charges.
