(Racine, Missouri-AP) -- Emergency workers in Missouri used special equipment to suck spilled diesel fuel from a creek before it headed toward Oklahoma's Grand Lake today.

Two Burlington Northern Sante Fe trains collided on an overpass of Big Lost Creek, a tributary of Grand Lake. One train spilled its diesel cargo.

Emergency crews prevented 5,000 gallons of the fuel from traveling to Oklahoma.

Authorities say a westbound train didn't slow down fast enough to avoid an eastbound train that was pulling into a sliding track.

One train tumbled off the north side of the overpass, and the other went over the south side yesterday.
