TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ One person was killed and two others were injured when a man with a knife attacked several people at a residence in Okmulgee County, authorities said.

The suspect, who was not identified, was taken into custody early Saturday and was hospitalized for undisclosed injuries, Maj. Brian Edwards with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said.

The suspect was previously described as a 19-year-old white man who was nearly 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighed about 250 pounds.

The motive for the attack was under investigation Saturday, authorities said. The suspect reportedly was involved in an altercation with the victims at a residence in Hectorville and returned to the house with a knife, officials said.

A man was later discovered dead in Tulsa County, and another man was found injured, Edwards said. The injured person was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Emergency Medical Service Authority spokesman Chris Metcalf said EMSA personnel pronounced a 19-year-old man dead. Friends of the man were transporting him to a hospital when they met a Glenpool police officer, who tried to resuscitate him, Edwards said.

The efforts were futile, though, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Metcalf said a caller had reported that ``dozens'' of people had been stabbed at a party at the house. An Okmulgee County sheriff's official said the first call about the trouble came into that office about 10 p.m.

Edwards said it was not clear whether all of the injured people had been stabbed or if some of them had been beaten.
