Kaczmarek Resembles TV Character

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) â€” The slightly maniacal mom that Jane Kaczmarek plays on the Fox sitcom ``Malcolm in the Middle'' bears a certain resemblance to the mom she is in real life. At least that's what her husband says.

Kaczmarek, 45, and her husband, actor Bradley Whitford of NBC's ``The West Wing,'' have a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old.

Whitford was on ``The Rosie O'Donnell Show'' recently and said Kaczmarek was exactly like the woman she plays on television. Later, she confronted her husband.

``I said, `Honey, you need to say that in a way that people know you're being more sarcastic. The way you said that sounded like you meant it,''' she said. ``And he said, `I do mean it.' So that kind of took me aback.''
