TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Junior center DeAngelo McDaniel likely won't be back to bolster Tulsa where it needs it most, coach Buzz Peterson says.

McDaniel had missed most of the last month with a dislocated shoulder. He was supposed to practice last week but never showed up and wasn't at Saturday's Fresno State game. Peterson said he hadn't heard from him.

"I'll do anything I can to help the young man, to make sure he gets his education," Peterson said. "But as far as him coming back on this basketball team, I can't see that because of what he's put these guys through here in the last month."

Peterson had hoped the 6-foot-9 junior could fill the noticeable gap at post.

McDaniel has been out since getting his right arm yanked out of its shoulder socket against Iowa on Dec. 2.
