LOS ANGELES (AP) — Participants in Monday night's American Music Awards will get a thank-you gift basket that looks like Christmas all over again.
The $3,500 worth of stuff includes a digital camera, a camcorder and a PC camera from Aiptek, two-way pagers from Skytel, a Verizon cell phone and a Casio digital wristwatch camera.
``This is the finest assemblage of gifts that we have ever been able to give to the hosts, performers and presenters of our annual show. I may even have to book myself as a presenter just so I can get my own bag of goodies,'' said Dick Clark, the show's executive producer.
Among the recipients: Britney Spears, LL Cool J, Aerosmith, Marc Anthony, Toni Braxton, Creed, Destiny's Child, Kid Rock, Jennifer Lopez, Marilyn Manson, Cindy Margolis, Ricky Martin, Martina McBride, Brooke Shields, Sisqo and about 50 other entertainers.
The 28th annual awards show will be broadcast by ABC-TV.
The gift baskets also include Reebok shoes, electronic stuffed animals, salon products, CODE sunglasses, gourmet chocolates, umbrellas, handheld video games, Polaroid instant pocket cameras, clothing and accessories, aromatherapy products, cosmetics, perfumes, colognes, backpacks, Fossil watches and a voice-activated television remote.
Steve Stein of Hollywood Connection assembled the gift packages.
