(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The Reverand Jesse Jackson is in Oklahoma this afternoon for a march in opposition of the death penalty.
Jackson told reporters he's renewing his appeal to Governor Keating to place a moratorium on executions. Jackson says he also supports a bill by state Representative Opio (OH'-pee-oh) Toure (tour-AY') of Oklahoma City that would stop executions for one year.
Jackson says he recently spoke with Keating and gives the governor credit for the 30-day stay of execution granted yesterday to Robert William Clayton.
Jackson also says he's spoken with condemned killer Wanda Jean Allen and that there's no doubt Allen's legal counsel was inadequate.
Allen is to become the first woman to be put to death since statehood.
Jackson is to take part in a march this afternoon from the Mabel Bassett Correctional Center to Fairview Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
