(Miami-AP) -- Count Oklahoma offensive coordinator Mark Mangino as a man who appreciates where his opportunities have led him.

A decade ago Mangino gave up a high school head coaching job to move his wife and two children to Manhattan, Kansas. There, he became a graduate assistant at Kansas State at a salary of 86-hundred dollars a year.

After one year he was hired full-time and spent nine years on the K-State staff. He then joined the staff of fellow K-State assistant Bob Stoops when Stoops was hired by O-U.

Today Mangino is busy getting the Sooner offense ready for a showdown with Florida State with a national championship going to the winner.
