(Denver-AP) -- A federal judge is agreeing to let Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh drop his appeals and to set an execution date.

Judge Richard Matsch is giving McVeigh until January 11th to file further appeals of his conviction. After that Matsch says he will allow the U-S Bureau of Prisons set an execution date.

McVeigh says he will not file any appeal, but his attorney says McVeigh is considering asking for clemency from the president.

McVeigh was convicted and sentenced to die for the April 19th, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building that killed 168 people and injured more than 500.
