(Sayre-AP) -- The man sought by police for the murder of another man at a rural Beckham County farmhouse last Monday is dead.
An Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman says Arthur Puckett Junior was found in the Sayre home of his estranged wife early this morning. Kym Koch (KIM COOK) says Puckett was airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital where he died.
Koch says Sayre police were on routine patrol near the home when they saw movement inside the house that was supposed to be vacant. The officers knocked on the door, heard a gunshot, then entered the home and found Puckett in a bathroom with a gunshot wound to the head.
Puckett was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Charles Page last Monday. He also faced charges for the critical wounding of Page's wife and mother-in-law during the same shooting.
