Drug charges against teacher, others are dismissed

(Tulsa -AP) -- Drug charges against a suspended Tulsa Public Schools teacher and five others are being dismissed, but a prosecutor says the case will be refiled.

Mary Gay Fox faced a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute, as well as misdemeanor charges.

A judge indicates that prosecutors were having problems meeting deadlines to provide information and expected evidence to defense attorneys.

Assistant District Attorney Sharon Ashe says there are also problems with the availability of witnesses.

Fox remains suspended with pay from her job as a special education teacher at a Tulsa intermediate school.
