Prevent frozen pipes
Although winter doesn't officially start for a few weeks, winter weather is here now. When temperatures dip below 20 degrees, it's important to make sure frozen pipes don't burst. "If you go to sleep with the lines dripping, and wake up the next morning and they've stopped dripping, the one rule is don't turn off the faucets,†said structural architect Bill Rose. “By the fact that they're open just a little bit, you're getting all the protection you need."
Some things you can do to prevent frozen pipes
Insulate pipes in your home's crawl spaces and attic.
Wrap pipes with heat tape or heat cables.
Seal leaks around electrical wiring, dryer vents, and pipes.
Disconnect garden hoses.
When the temperature drops trickle both hot, and cold water from a faucet.

You can shop for auto, health, home, and life insurance. They also have advisors who can tell you how much insurance you might need.
U.S. government begins selling its stuff online
It may not be competition for Amazon.com or e-Bay, the federal government is selling its goods and services online. The site is called pay.gov. You can order visitor passes to national parks or request a White House tour. The site also sells books from the government printing office, and merchandise from the U.S. Mint.
