Some Broken Arrow residents say they feel like they've been taken to the cleaners, literally. KOTV Jenny McNeill has the story.

Dozens of people say they want their dry cleaning back from the 225 Cleaners in Broken Arrow. The doors have been shut for almost two weeks leaving customers wondering what to do. Debbie Sledge has had quite a time getting her son's military uniform ready for his Saturday drill.

She says she took it to 225 Cleaners in Broken Arrow two weeks ago and when she went to pick it up, the door was locked. Debbie Sledge, "I started camping out on Wednesday I went there 5 different times." Five different times but still no answer. After several unsuccessful days, she enlisted the help of a private investigator who tracked down the cleaner's owner, Chris Miller.

After hours of detective work, hiring an attorney, and calling the building, Debbie finally got her clothes back. But after she was let in Friday morning, the store was locked back up and when we tried to talk to the owner Friday afternoon, the cleaners was still closed. "We weren't the only ones left in the cold," according to another customer, "I've been here every day this week. I have three shirts and two pants."

Debbie says that in her one day of camping out at the cleaners, at least 25 people came by wanting their clothes. She was telling some friends about her ordeal and one was in for a surprise. Debbie Sledge "this one woman said where did you take your cleaning I said 225 Cleaners in Broken Arrow and she said I have my mothers heirloom blanket there." That woman was Nyla Woody. "I have this gorgeous all wool blanket that's been in my family for years I took it over there and I can't get it back they aren't ever open."

Debbie says if the doors ever do open, she's volunteered to distribute the dry cleaning so everyone else can get their clothes back. The building landlord told KOTV Friday afternoon that Chris Miller was late on his rent, but came in Friday and paid for November and December. They say because he is up to date on his rent they can not legally go into the cleaners and get the clothes. KOTV went to Miller's home Friday afternoon but no one was home.

KOTV will update you on this story and let you know when customers will be able to pick up their dry cleaning.
