(Stillwater-AP) -- Some Oklahomans will participate in the 2001 Tournament of Roses Parade on January First.

Three members of the Legends of Oklahoma will ride a float on the six-mile route in Pasadena, California. They will portray humorist Will Rogers, Wild West showman Pawnee Bill and western film star Tom Mix.

Wayne Spears portrays Pawnee Bill. He says his groups' participation will promote Oklahoma.

The trip will cost about 14-hundred dollars for travel and insurance expenses, but local groups are trying to raise money to defray those costs.
