(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma City police have released the name of a man shot to death by officers.
Randle Carr was killed shortly before 6:45 last night while trying to flee from officers Randy Castle and Jerry Bowen.
Witnesses say Carr appeared to have a rock or piece of concrete when he was shot. The shooting occurred in the parking lot of a Methodist church next to the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
A police spokeswoman says Castle and Bowen will be placed on administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.
Another man who was shot in a separate incident by Oklahoma City police earlier yesterday has been upgraded from critical to serious condition at a local hospital.
Police say James Franklin Kyker was armed with a butcher knife when he was shot several times by officers.
