(Tulsa-AP) -- A witness to the stabbing death of a 16-year-old Sperry High School student says the victim fought with the 15-year-old accused killer just minutes before the stabbing.
Brandon Clay Stewart is charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the October 16th death of Brenton Epperly.
Fifteen-year-old Sherman Conley testified during a preliminary hearing yesterday that Epperly hit Stewart three or four times after the two shoved each other.
Conley says the two teens then separated, but a few minutes later Stewart accused Epperly of trying to steal his bicycle. Conley says Epperly walked toward Stewart, who pulled out a knife and stabbed Epperly once in the chest.
