State and local authorities are cracking down on drunk drivers, especially on those who have children in the vehicle. Authorities say two-thirds of the children who are hurt or killed in drunk driving accidents, are passengers in the cars where the parent who was driving had too much to drink.
Police say some impaired drivers get angry when they are stopped. They tell the officers to go catch real criminals. "We are stopping the real criminals,†said Major Brian Edwards, Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department spokesman. “More lives are impacted by drunk drivers than victims of homicide."
June Shaver barely survived getting hit by a drunk driver. She says if you must party during the holidays, select a designated driver before the night begins.
