The City of Tulsa has announced its plan of attack to make streets safer during winter weather. When snow falls, crews will head to expressways, and streets near hospitals first. Then they'll start clearing heavily-traveled residential streets, and those in hilly areas. This season, crews will have a new chemical weapon known as magnesium chloride to fight slick streets. It allows crews to treat the surface of roads before snow or ice begins to build up on them. The chemical was tested last year, so city officials decided to expand its use this season.
