TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Chantoya Hawkins scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Oklahoma State to a 71-63 victory over Oral Roberts (0-1) on Friday.

Kara Faulk added 10 points and five rebounds and Machell Roberts scored 10 points for the Cowgirls (1-0).

Shane McKenzie and Krista Ragan each scored 18 points for Oral Roberts, which lost despite outshooting the Cowgirls 43 percent to 37 percent overall and outscoring them 32-29 in the second half.

OSU's 80 percent shooting from the free throw line helped give the Cowgirls a 29-26 edge at halftime.

ORU was 0-2 from the 3-point range in the first half and 6-of-10 from the free throw line.
