TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Stacey Dales scored 24 points to lead 14th-ranked Oklahoma to an 80-49 victory over Tulsa in the opening game of the Bertha Teague Classic at Oral Roberts University's Mabee Center Friday evening.

Tulsa (0-1) hung close for the most of the first half, leading 15-14 at one point.

But the Sooners (1-0), behind 14 first-half points from Dales, pulled out to a 38-28 halftime advantage.

A 13-1 run at the start of the half put the Sooners up 51-30, and they were never threatened after that.

LaNeisha Caufield added 10 points, five rebounds and two assists for Oklahoma, which also got 10 points from Jadrea Seeley.

Leela Farr scored 13 of her team-high 19 points to lead Tulsa in scoring. Mia Williams added 10 points and five rebounds.

Tulsa 89, North Texas 71

TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Kevin Johnson scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Tulsa to an 89-71 victory over North Texas on Friday.

Tulsa trailed 6-4 at the beginning, but then went on a 21-0 run. The Golden Hurricane's advantage crested at 39-14 with 3:41 left in the first half and North Texas never got closer than 14 points.

Marcus Hill scored 15 points, had eight rebounds and eight assists for Tulsa. David Shelton added 14 points and five rebounds, while Dante Swanson had 12 points, six rebounds and two assists.

Jason Miller scored 13 points and had nine rebounds for the Mean Green, which had 21 turnovers, 18 in the first half. Chris Davis added 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Tulsa held North Texas to 37.7 percent shooting and outrebounded the Mean Green 49-39.

The Golden Hurricane shot 48 percent, but had 23 turnovers, 13 in a sloppy second half.

La Salle 78, North Carolina-Wilmington 71

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Victor Thomas and Rasual Butler combined for 47 points to lead La Salle to a 78-71 victory over North Carolina-Wilmington in the opening round of the Sooner Invitational Friday night.

Thomas finished with a game-high 29 points, but it was Butler who re-energized the Explorers with three straight second-half buckets that turned a 47-44 deficit into a 51-47 lead. Thomas hit a 3-pointer to cap a 14-6 run, and La Salle (1-0) never trailed again.

Butler missed six of his first eight shots to start the game. But Thomas managed to pick up the slack against the Seahawks, scoring 14 first-half points to help give the Explorers a 41-33 lead at the break.

Wilmington (0-1) opened the second-half with a 14-3 run off the shooting of sophomore guard Brett Blizzard, who led his team with 22 points. The second of Blizzard's four 3-pointers gave the Seahawks a three-point edge with 15 minutes remaining.

Then Butler hit a driving layup that he followed with a 3-pointer.

The Explorers will play the winner of Friday night's second game between No. 21 Oklahoma and Alcorn State.

SW Oklahoma 84, Incarnate Word 78

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (AP) _ Tim Ray scored 36 points to lead Southwestern Oklahoma to an 84-78 victory over Incarnate Word Friday night.

The Bulldogs (1-0) shot a sluggish 39.3 percent in the first half and were behind 49-34 at intermission.

But Southwestern Oklahoma recovered in the second half, shooting 50 percent from the field and outscoring Incarnate Word 50-29.

Milan Pepper added 18 points for Southwestern Oklahoma, which hit 88.1 percent of its free throws.

Adam Mason scored 15 points and had seven rebounds for Incarnate Word (0-1). Robert Tovar had 13 points and seven rebounds, while Chris Olivares added 13 points and six assists for Incarnate Word.

Incarnate Word shot 48.6 percent from the field in the first half, but fell to 35.3 percent in the second.
