MILWAUKEE (AP) — Green Bay Packers wide receiver Antonio Freeman was fined $10,000 by the NFL on Thursday for slapping the ball from an official's hands in last weekend's loss at Tampa Bay.

Freeman was penalized for ``making impermissible physical contact with a game official,'' league spokesman Chris McCloskey said. ``Specifically, he approached the head linesman from behind and slapped the ball from his hand.''

The fine, issued after league officials reviewed the incident which occured in the Packers' 20-15 loss on Sunday, can be appealed within 20 days.
