(Antlers-AP) -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into alleged voting irregularities in the Democratic runoff for sheriff in Pushmataha County.

At issue are about 100 absentee ballots cast by incapacitated voters. In the race, Elven Flood defeated Sheriff Rita Duncan by 110 votes.

Duncan says several people came to her after the election with complaints of illegal absentee voting.

State Election Board Secretary Lance Ward says what's suspicious is that there are more absentee ballots from incapacitated voters than usual. And Ward says the same, small number of people appear to have witnessed all the ballot signings.

Since incapacitated voters aren't mobile, they are allowed to sign an affidavit before two witnesses, instead of a notary like other voters.

Though Duncan thinks the investigation is necessary, she says she thinks it won't change the outcome of the election.
