Northeastern and Northwestern prepare for playoffs

(Undated-AP) -- Northeastern State and Northwestern Oklahoma are now getting ready for the playoffs.

Northwestern is 10 – 0 and top-ranked in the N-A-I-A. The Rangers have won 28 straight and are also the defending national champions.

Northwestern opens the N-A-I-A playoffs at home on Saturday against Nebraska Wesleyan.

Northeastern State finished the regular season at 9 - 1 and opens the N-C-A-A Division Two playoffs at home on Saturday by hosting Mesa State of Colorado.

The Redmen ended the regular season with a 7 - 0 shutout of Central Oklahoma that gave them the Lone Star Conference championship outright.
