(Oklahoma City-AP) -- State Election Board Secretary Lance Ward isn't laughing about an e-mail that gives wrong voting information.
Ward says several versions of the message say that because of an anticipated record turnout, Republicans should vote next Tuesday, and Democrats on Wednesday.
Ward says it's a felony to prevent anyone from voting, and a person could be sent to prison for two years and fined five-thousand dollars if convicted.
He says he's heard of similar messages in other states, including California.
Ward says he hopes voters realize this is only someone's idea of a joke, but says he has already been asked if election day has been changed.
It hasn't.
Ward says anyone in a long line at the polls next Tuesday should wait, the polls will not be open on Wednesday.
