AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) _ Supporters of Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader are labeling new television ads being aired by abortion-rights advocates in five states, including New Mexico, as ``last-minute dirty tricks.''
The National Abortion Rights Action League ads airing in the Portland, Maine, market warn that a vote for Nader could send Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush to the White House.
NARAL contends that represents a threat to women's choice on abortion.
The ads also are airing in Vermont, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington state.
In Maine, Green Party spokeswoman Nancy Allen said the ads distort the truth and suggest that Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore's campaign must be frightened by Nader's candidacy.
Nader has the strongest ``pro-choice'' position of any presidential candidate, Allen said.
