If you are healthy and you want a flu shot, you may have to wait a little longer. The Surgeon General wants high risk patients to receive the vaccine first. The problem started with an early onset of flu season, followed by a temporary shortage of the vaccine.
However U-S surgeon general David Satcher expects things to improve in the next couple of months. "If we can get people immunized by the end of December, we will be in great shape for everyone," he explained. Satcher says the people who need the vaccine first are the elderly, pregnant women, children with athsma and people with chronic diseases.
