(Chicago-AP) -- A 45-year-old man collapsed and died during today's Chicago Marathon.
Dan Towns of Edmond, Oklahoma, collapsed at the 22-and-a-half mile mark. A nurse and a doctor who were running behind him started C-P-R.
He was taken to Chicago's Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, but could not be resuscitated.
Towns' wife said her husband was in good health and had run a marathon in December.
This was the second fatality in the 23 years of the marathon.
A woman died two years ago of low sodium levels.
