(Muskogee-AP) -- Authorities are looking for the suspect in a fatal shooting in Muskogee County.

Muskogee County Sheriff's deputies called to a house just outside the city limits this morning found 41-year-old Terry Wade Helton of Checotah shot through the neck.

A neighbor who lives near where the shooting happened telephoned authorities after hearing several shots.

Sheriff's Lieutenant Roger Lee says Helton was declared dead at the scene. Lee says two witnesses were brought into the county jail for questioning.

Law officers are now looking for 37-year-old Russell Alan Thomas.

Thomas is described as a five-foot-10 white male weighing 175 pounds with blue eyes.

Lee says he may be with a white male in a blue Toyota pickup truck.
