Gas prices in Oklahoma higher now than one year ago
The numbers have been changing recently at the gas pump. Gasoline prices in Oklahoma are averaging around $1.40 a gallon, about 30 cents higher than a year ago. The American Automobile Association says prices are expected to remain high through the winter months. Prices will also depend on the crisis in the Middle East which can affect the price of crude oil. If the price of crude oil rises, prices will also rise at the gas pump.High interest
A new study from the Consumer Federation of America says many Americans, especially seniors, are missing out on tens of billions of dollars in interest payments. The study says if people move money out of traditional low-interest bank accounts into accounts that offer higher interest rates, they could dramatically increase their earnings. The C-F-A recommends three options.
Certificates of Deposit -- some banks sell them for as little as $250.
Savings Bonds -- they start as low as $50.
Higher rate savings accounts – many banks now offer these types of accounts and have certain requirements. Check with your bank to see the types of accounts they may have to offer.AA will have Tulsa to LA direct flight
Beginning November 1, you'll be able to fly non-stop from Tulsa to Los Angeles. American Airlines is adding a daily round-trip flight on a 129 seat Super 80 aircraft. The plane will also offer more leg room throughout the coach cabin. The flight from Tulsa will leave every morning at 7:15 am and will return from LA each night at 11:40 pm.
