(Tulsa-AP) -- A portion of the street that runs along the University of Tulsa's Skelly Stadium will be renamed in honor of former Tulsa All-American and head football coach Glenn Dobbs.

The section of Eighth Street will become Glenn Dobbs Drive.

Dobbs led the Golden Hurricane to a 10 - 1 record and Number Four national ranking in 1942.

He became Tulsa's athletic director in 1955 and served as head football coach from 1961 to 1968.

Dobbs is currently the chairman of a fund-raising drive for Skelly Stadium.

A renaming ceremony will be held before the Tulsa-T-C-U game on October 21st.
