(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa coach Keith Burns was blunt in his assessment of the Golden Hurricane's 40-to-7 loss to Texas-El Paso.
He says the best players did not show up and play their best.
Now, the three-and-three Hurricane must get ready for a non-conference game at New Mexico State.
The one-and-four Aggies are coming off their first win of the season, a 42-to-23 victory over Army.
Burns says he's impressed with the Aggie offense that has scored more than 70 points in the last two games.
Two weeks ago New Mexico State scored 31 points and gained more than 300 yards while losing to the same U-TEP team that held Tulsa to seven points and 243 yards in total offense.
